| On April 3, 2008, Gov. James Douglas signed a proclamation declaring April as Financial Literacy for Youth Month in Vermont. The Vermont Jump$tart Coalition mailed out posters, bookmarks and reading lists to all Vermont's libraries. The reading lists provided titles of books on financial literacy for all age groups. |

| Once again, Gov. James Douglas graciously agreed to declare April as Financial Literacy for Youth Month in Vermont. Members of Vermont Jump$tart witnessed the signing and also set up an educational booth at the Vermont statehouse to help Vermont's lawmakers understand the importance of financial education in the schools in addition to what young people learn at home. |

VT Jump$tart for Personal Financial Literacy

| The Vermont Jump$tart's Common $ense Conference for Teachers and Parents on Nov. 14, 2006, gave participants the tools and resources they need to teach Vermont's young people responsible money management skills. Guest speakers presented workshops featuring a variety of financial education curriculums and real-world advice on money management. G. Dino Koff, director of Financial Aid and Admissions at Vermont Law School, was special guest speaker as well as Gov. James Douglas and Vermont State Treasurer Jeb Spaulding.
